Bingo Glosary

Caller:
Who you love to hate. The person who calls out bingo numbers as are drawn. You know, that person you complain about being unfair all the time.

Coverall/Blackout Bingo:
Cover all the numbers on your card to win!

Dauber:
While basically a dauber is what you use to mark your Bingo card offline, in reality it's become a means of expression, differentiation and fun for Bingo players everywhere. they now come in a vast array of colors and shapes, for all kinds of individuals. Most online players use auto-daub.

Free Space:
Your favorite! The center square of the bingo card which you get absolutely FREE!

Game Board:
A board that show the bingo balls in play for all the players. Most halls now use electronic game boards and most show the pattern in play at the same time. Most helpful!

Hall Ball:
In the beginning is the Hall Ball. The first ball drawn at the beginning of a bingo session.

Progressive Bingo:
A favorite! Jackpots roll over until a game is won. Legend has it a player in England won a $10,000, 6-year-unbroken progressive jackpot on a $5.00 card.

Money Ball:
A number drawn before the game. If you Bingo on that number, you win more! Whatever the prize is set for that evening.

Pattern Bingo:
4 corners, hat-pin, postage stamp, one line. Each Bingo game is played to a different pattern. In a 4-cornes game, well, you need to cover 4-corners to win. There are many, many bingo patterns in play.

Rainbow Pack:
Many halls use a packet of assorted-colored bingo cards that allow players to play for more than one prize at once.

Wild Number:
Get wild! The wild number is another fun variation. If the first number called in a game is B7, then all numbers ending in 7 will qualify as wild numbers and get daubed on all cards.
